Coqualeetza - from the Halkomelem word for 'place of beating of blankets' (to get them clean).
Sardis - When Mrs. Vedder was asked to name the new community, she opened her Bible at random and, putting her finger down, lit on Sardis, seat of one of the seven churches of Asia (see Revelations 3-4).
