Beaverton and Rendell were originally two settlements only about a mile apart. When they united, they adopted this composite name.
Christian Valley after Joseph Christian, the first settler here.
Damfino Creek by William Fleet Robertson (provincial mineralogist 1897-1925), when crossing this stream with a pack train, asked one of the men what its name was. 'Damned if I know,' said the man, and onto the map it went as Damfino Creek.
