- The Bell-Irving River flows SE into Nass R. After D.P. Bell-Irving, BCLS. A month after the outbreak of World War I, he sent his father a telegram from a cabin on the Yukon Telegraph Line: 'Hear there is war.
- Who is fighting who?' He returned to Vancouver, joined up as befitted a graduate of the Royal Military College, Kingston, and became the first Canadian officer to be killed in action.
- Hotlesklwa Lake - From the Sekani Indian phrase meaning 'when the water is high, fish look like mud.'
- Iskut River - Possibly from the Nisgha Indian word meaning 'stinking,' otherwise of unknown origin.
- McConachie Peak - After Grant McConachie, a noted bush pilot long before he became president of Canadian Pacific Air Lines.
- Back in those earlier days, he flew a government survey party, headed by Frank Swannell, into the Thutade Lake area.
- McConachie, by way of a joke, asked Swannell what he would have to pay Swannell to get a mountain, a lake, or a stream named after him. Swannell replied, 'A bottle of rum would be a fair price.'
- McConachie took along a bottle of rum on the next trip. His fellow pilots Gil McLaren, Oakes, and Kubicek also got features named after them.
- Nincunsaw River - From a Tahitan Indian word meaning 'rock under ground.'
