Description From Owner:

Forster Creek - After Harold E. Forster, alpinist, rancher, mining speculator. Born in Ontario and orphaned at the age of one, he was sent to England and educated at Eton and Cambridge.
He came to British Columbia in 1890. In 1898 he acquired Firlands Ranch on this creek, where he built a spacious manor house, complete with tennis court and croquet lawn.
He served a term as MLA for the riding. In 1940, living apart from his wife, with most of the house closed off, he and a friend spent an evening drinking with a young Indian, who shot them and burned down the house in an attempt to conceal his crime.
