- Falkland - This little settlement was named in compliment to Colonel Falkland G.F. Warren, CMG, CB. Retired from the Royal Horse Artillery, he made his home here in 1893 and proved a good friend to the other settlers.
- Miller Lake - After A.E. Miller, school inspector at Revelstoke, who explored the area and published articles extolling its beauty.
- Pillar Lake - After a column of rock and clay here, sixty feet high and capped with a large flat rock.
