In 1919 a boxing enthusiast in the Cariboo named this lake after Jack Dempsey, heavyweight champion of the world.
Forest Grove - Not after the town in Oregon, but after a grove here. The name was suggested by a sister of E.C. Phillips, the local storekeeper, at a public meeting held to choose a name for the post office.
Ruth Lake - Arthur Williamson of North Vancouver named this lake after his daughter Ruth.
