Description From Owner:
- Fountain - Originally 'The Fountain.' Commander Mayne, who was here in 1859, gives us the explanation of the name:
- 'Fountain is a flat at a sharp turn in the [Fraser] river 12 miles below Pavillon [sic] and derives its name from a small natural fountain spouting out in the middle of it.'
- With permission from G.P.V and Helen B. Akrigg 1997 British Columbia Place Names. UBC Press.
