Gellatly - After David Erskine Gellatly, who arrived in the Okanagan in 1893, settling near Peachland.
At one time 'Tomato King of the Okanagan,' he pioneered in the growing of market produce. On his trips to Calgary, where he had a wholesale fruit business, (he dressed up very well with a waxed moustache, as if he were a laird.'
