Description From Owner:
- Granthams Landing - After Frederick Charles Grantham (1871-1954), a Vancouver lime juice manufacturer and 'a very kindly quiet gentleman.' In 1909 he arrived at Gibson's Landing looking for a good location for a summer cottage.
- Gibson's son-inlaw Glassford took him around to see 'the prettiest spot on Howe Sound.' Taken with the place, Grantham bought District Lot 687, seventy-five acres and 800 feet of waterfront.
- Since the property was bigger than Grantham needed for his cottage, he subdivided it, putting in roads and sidewalks, a wharf and a water system, and so Grantham's Landing was born.
- With permission from G.P.V and Helen B. Akrigg 1997 British Columbia Place Names. UBC Press.
