- Hood Point - After Sir Alexander Hood (1727-1814), Admiral of the Blue, second in command to Lord Howe at the latter's victory over the French in 1794, in the battle known as 'The Glorious First of June.'
- Later Hood rose to the dignity of Viscount Bridport.
- Horseshoe Bay - So named because of its shape.
- Queen Charlotte Channel - After HMS Queen Charlotte, Lord Howe's flagship when he won his great victory 'The Glorious First of June' in 1794.
