Jesmond - After Ottawa refused to accept 'Mountain House' for the post office opened here in 1918 (presumably to avoid duplication of names), Mr. Coldwell, a former resident of Jesmond,
a district in Newcastle-upon-Tyne in England, successfully proposed this name.
