- Maillardville - After the Reverend Edmond Maillard, OMI, of St. Malo in Brittany.
- He became the first priest of the Roman Catholic parish of Our Lady of Lourdes, founded in 1909 to minister to the spiritual needs of French-Canadian millworkers recently brought from Quebec to work in the Fraser Mills. Maillard died in France in 1966,
- aged eighty-six.
