  • Kwinamuck Lake - From the Nisgha Indian word meaning 'place of cow parsnip.' The name refers to the use of the stems as drinking straws.
  • Kwinatahl River - From the Nisgha Indian word meaning 'place of strips of cedar bark.'
  • Tchitin River - From the Nisgha Indian word meaning 'fish weir river.'
