Description From Owner:
  • Royston - William Roy and his family settled here in 1890. In 1910 Roy, collaborating with a real estate promoter named Frederick B. Warren, laid out a townsite here that they named Royston.
  • There were two reasons for choosing this name: (1) it was based on Bill Roy's surname; (2) Warren carne from Royston in Cambridgeshire.
  • With permission from G.P.V and Helen B. Akrigg 1997 British Columbia Place Names. UBC Press.
