Description From Owner:
- Ruskin - In 1897 the Canadian Cooperative Society established a sawmill here.
- J.T. Wilband, the president, and Thomas Robinson, the secretary of the cooperative, named the new settlement after John Ruskin (1819-1900), the English author and critic who was one of the apostles of the cooperative movement.
- The mill went bankrupt about a year later.
