Description From Owner:
- Stuie - In his book Spatsizi, Tommy Walker, a well-known professional guide who at one time operated Stuie Lodge, tells of a restless wolf that set out to seek new hunting territory.
- He picked up a small boxlike object in his mouth and padded away, descending deep canyons until he carne to a place where the mountains were farther apart.
- Here he rested, dropping the box, which grew into a house, the beginnings of the village of Stooick (Stuie), which means 'a pleasing place of repose' or 'a quiet place.'
- With permission from G.P.V and Helen B. Akrigg 1997 British Columbia Place Names. UBC Press.
