Tulameen River
- Lodestone Mountain - From the magnetite deposits on this mountain.
- Podunk Creek - After Willard Albert ('Podunk') Davis, a trapper and woodsman who died in 1943. Recalled the Reverend John Goodfellow: 'Podunk was a man to be reckoned with. Even in old age his frame suggested the rugged strength of younger days.'
- Thynne Creek - After J.C. (Jack) Thynne, a great-grandson of a Marquess of Bath. He came into the Nicola country in 1887. He was much in demand as a fiddler at dances.
- Tulameen River - From a Thompson Indian word meaning 'red earth.'
- The source of the much-prized red ochre, for which Indians travelled from afar was a steep bank of the river four miles north of Princeton. The settlement of Tulameen was earlier known as Campement des Femmes or Otter Flat.
