British Columbia Tourism Region : Thompson Okanagan
Description From Owner:
- Gottfriedson Mountain - After November Gottfriedsen, of Danish and Indian ancestry, who settled in the district around 1910.
- He said he was originally named September since he came after his brother August but that, since he was always late, people took to calling him November.
- Westbank - When a post office was opened here in 1902, it was given this name, indicative of its location on Okanagan Lake. The title was suggested by John Davidson, who had arrived in the district in 1892.
- With permission from G.P.V and Helen B. Akrigg 1997 British Columbia Place Names. UBC Press.
