Description From Owner:

Whytecliff - The admiralty survey of the area, taking note of the white rock of the promontory here, named it White Cliff Point.
In 1909 Sir Charles Tupper and Colonel Albert Whyte of the West Shore and Northern Land Co. Ltd. opened their White Cliff City townsite.
In 1914 Colonel Whyte used his influence with the PGE to have the company name its station here not White Cliff but Whytecliff.
