Bruce Creek - After R. Randolph Bruce, a former lieutenant-governor of British Columbia who was active in promoting the Columbia Valley Irrigated Fruit Lands Company.
Wilmer - Originally Peterborough, the name of this settlement was changed to Wilmer in 1902 in honour of Wilmer Wells, the provincial Minister of Public Works, who had been a sawmill operator in this part of the province.
