Meldrum Creek
- After Augustine Boitano, who owned the adjacent Springhouse Ranch.
- Meldrum Creek - After Thomas Meldrum, reputedly the first white man to have the courage to live in the Chilcotin Indians' country following the massacre of the Waddington road-builders in the Chilcotin Uprising of 1864.
- Miocene - After the old Miocene Mine on the Horsefly River. Miocene is part of the Tertiary period in geological time.
- Springhouse - In gold rush days, a roadhouse here was close to St. Peter's Spring.
- Williams Lake - The name of Williams Lake dates back at least to 28 April 1860, when John Telfer was granted a preemption 'situated at Williams Lake.'
- This lake is named for Chief William, at one time the leader of the Sugar Cane Reserve Indians.
- During the 'Chilcotin War' of 1864, Chief William blocked the endeavours of the Chilcotins to have the other Indians in the Cariboo join them in a general massacre of the whites.
