Description From Owner:
- Pouce Coupe - This unusual name of 'Cut Thumb' comes from a Sekani trapper nicknamed 'Pouce Coupé' by the French-Canadian voyageurs because he had lost a thumb in an accident with his gun. Simon Fraser mentions the Indian Pouce Coupé as early as 1806.
- CUT THUMB CREEK, which flows into the Parsnip River, is also named after him.
- With permission from G.P.V and Helen B. Akrigg 1997 British Columbia Place Names. UBC Press.
