White Rock - This is named after a large white rock on the beach. According to an Indian legend, it was hurled across Georgia Strait by a young chief who had agreed with the girl whom he loved to make their home where the white rock landed.
Semiahmoo Bay - This is the name of one of the subgroups of the Straits Salish. Their territory included he shore of Boundary, Mud, and Semiahmoo Bays and below the 49th parellel.
