- This stretch of the Fraser provides the only survival of the name Derby, applied to old Fort Langley in 1858 when it was expected to become the capital of British Columbia. The Earl of Derby was Prime Minister of Britain at that time.
- Langley City - Takes its name from nearby Fort Langley
- McMillan Island - After James McMillan of the HBC, who made a reconnaissance in this area in 1824 and then, on a second visit in 1827, founded Fort Langley. He commanded the fort during its first year.
